Luminus ShamalStart, in a ceremony held recently in Jordan, inaugurated the 11th wave of Business Accelerator program, whereas the applications were opened in June, 2019 and 255 innovative business ideas were received of which 32 teams were interviewed and 12 of them made it to the semi-final stage and received training. The selected teams showcased their innovative ideas before an external committee of jury members comprising of investors and competencies in the entrepreneurship, economics and manufacturing sectors, including ISSF Jordan, Beyond Capital, Oasis500 and “hikma ventures”. 5 of these innovative business ideas were selected by the committee to join the business acceleration program for a period of 6 months whom will receive the needed support and mentor-ship.
The applicant in the acceleration program has presented their projects to the jury yesterday.
The jury member were from BeyondCapital, Oasis500, ISSFJO, Hikma Ventures, had screened the projects that will be accepted in the Business Acceleration Program.
Applicants who has qualified for the preliminary interviewing phase has started 10-day Business Boot Camp !

Luminus ShamalStart recently organized a workshop titled ‘Supporting Local Entrepreneurship within the Public and Private Sectors’. The workshop was attended by decision-makers from institutions, universities and vocational training centers in the north of Jordan, alongside representatives from the Irbid Development Zone and Al Hasan Industrial City.
The announcement was made yesterday during an official launch ceremony held under the patronage of HRH Princess Sumaya bint El Hassan - in the presence of HE Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner, investors and heads of associations and local incubators and accelerators.
Reaffirming their shared commitment to championing innovation and entrepreneurship, the European Union (EU) and Luminus ShamalStart hosted on Tuesday 21 May, 2019, a workshop titled ‘EU Med means Business: Shaping the Future of Entrepreneurship in the South’. Held under the patronage of H.E. Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, the workshop was organized in parallel with the ‘EU Med means Business’ conference conducted in Belgium and with three other workshops in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt, besides Jordan.

Yesterday, ‘HarfFun حرفن’ - a Luminus ShamalStart project - won first place in the international Hult Prize competition, which was hosted by the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). The competition aims to generate startup ideas from young people to sustainably solve the world’s most critical social challenges, such as unemployment. The ‘HarfFun’ team will take part in the regional round, globally representing JUST.
