Reaffirming their shared commitment to championing innovation and entrepreneurship, the European Union (EU) and Luminus ShamalStart hosted on Tuesday 21 May, 2019, a workshop titled ‘EU Med means Business: Shaping the Future of Entrepreneurship in the South’. Held under the patronage of H.E. Johannes Hahn, EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, the workshop was organized in parallel with the ‘EU Med means Business’ conference conducted in Belgium and with three other workshops in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt, besides Jordan.
We would love to congratulate three of our startup companies; 360 Moms, Tarteeb and darajtee, who were qualified to compete in the Annual Investment Meeting (AIM) held in Dubai in April, 2019 by the UAE Ministry of Economy. Where they will present their ideas and projects in front of major investors and representatives of international institutions and government entities. We wish them every success!
Yesterday, ‘HarfFun حرفن’ - a Luminus ShamalStart project - won first place in the international Hult Prize competition, which was hosted by the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST). The competition aims to generate startup ideas from young people to sustainably solve the world’s most critical social challenges, such as unemployment. The ‘HarfFun’ team will take part in the regional round, globally representing JUST.
Congratulations to our startup ‘ Sharqi Shop ’ for winning the European Youth Award. The Sharqi Shop online platform encompasses pioneering craftspeople, artisans and potters under one roof, shedding light on the beauty of the Middle East by sharing unique, original and contemporary handmade items with the world.
Beyond Capital held a training session for Luminus ShamalStart startups on the Investor Readiness Program. Designed to support entrepreneurs to make better decisions when raising external equity finance, the program also helps them understand key topics and make the needed preparations to attract the right investors.
On Nov 15th, Biohance participated in an exhibition organized by Biomedical pulse and Kaharbje team at Jordan University of Science and Technology. We presented our project and explained the 3d printing process and technique, working mechanism of prosthesis, & acquiring EMG signals from the body to control the prosthesis
An informative session by Fab Academy was held yesterday, during which attendees were introduced to the training plan and were accompanied on a tour of FabLab Irbid’s various facilities.
Last Saturday was the last part of 'Professional Drone Builder' Workshop held by Sager.
Which gave the opportunity for the attendees to apply the last touches on what was left from the manufacturing procedure of the designs, the attendees also gained awareness about the principles and practical steps in the procedure of the aggregation of a drone as well as the welding process, and was concluded with a feedback of what was learnt in the workshop.
We are glad to have welcomed and introduced the Management Team of the EU-funded program, EDU-Syria, to Luminus ShamalStart’s various services, facilities and startups.
