A New Program in Partnership with UNICEF!

Luminus Shamal Start, in partnership with UNICEF, launched the Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship Programme (SEIP), which will incubate, accelerate and support innovative projects with the aim of increasing job opportunities and reducing unemployment at the local level.

The program output focuses on youth aged (16-24) inside Azraq and Zaatari camps, by incubating their projects that aim at improving life inside the camps. Initial funding for projects will be provided in addition to logistical and strategic support. The young refugees will be supervised and aided to help them establish and develop their projects in a correct manner.

The second part of the program includes an accelerator program for local entrepreneurs, providing entrepreneurship training programs in addition to seed funding for the accepted projects. There are also 3 fab labs that enable entrepreneurs to manufacture prototypes for their products within these laboratories located in various governorates and equipped with the latest equipment alongside experts to help them operate correctly.

As for the third part of the program, it aims to raise awareness in the field of Digital Public Goods (DPG). The main objective of the acceleration phase is to provide open source projects with the tools and support needed to transform their business ideas into successful startups and to implement their scalable business models based on DPG.
