IEEE Students Visit ShamalStart

On Monday, August 17th, Yarmouk University students enrolled in the IEEE program visited Luminus ShamalStart’s campus. The students were accompanied by the Director of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center at Yarmouk University, Dr. Hisham Al Masa’eed, to learn about Luminus ShamalStart’s incubator and Fab Lab Irbid.

The students launched their visit with an info-session led by Anwar Al Zomt, Luminus ShamalStart’s Outreach Officer. The info-session aimed at introducing students to the business accelerator program at Luminus ShamalStart. Anwar informed the attendees of the benefits of enrolling in the business accelerator program at Luminus ShamalStart, detailing the services that entrepreneurs and innovator would receive if their idea was within the eligible sectors and was accepted by the committee.

Luminus ShamalStart adopts innovative ideas that are scalable and have an impact on the community. As the leading business accelerator in the north of Jordan, Luminus ShamalStart focuses on ideas that are in the manufacturing sector and the services sector.

Since IEEE students are Electrical and Electronic Engineers, their benefit from Fab Lab Irbid is immeasurable. The electronic bench and the robotics department were the most attractive to the students, but their utilization of Fab Lab Irbid and its facilities, according to some of them, can be infinite.
