ETSP: ShamalStart & EDU-SYRIA

Luminus ShamalStart, with funding from EDU-SYRIA, is launching the Entrepreneurship Training Scholarship Program (ETSP) today. This program focuses on giving entrepreneurs, both Syrian and Jordanian an opportunity to innovate and create, to turn their ideas into a start-up. EDU-SYRIA is a European Union funded project implemented by a consortium led by the German Jordanian University. Luminus ShamalStart will help train and incubate 40 startups through its acceleration program for the next three years.

Luminus ShamalStart caters to entrepreneurs with promising ideas in the manufacturing and related services, through its Business Accelerator, enabling them to confidently enter and navigate the business world. With access to FabLab Irbid – a state-of-the-art manufacturing space – the first of its kind in Jordan and one of the 20 largest digital fabrication laboratories in the word, FabLab Irbid grants innovators and creators access to production areas, work spaces, advanced and easy-to-use equipment and tools, as well as a resident team of experts and specialists.

EDU-SYRIA is a framework to help Syrian refugees in Jordan and vulnerable Jordanians from the refugees host communities to get access to higher education through a set of scholarship programs. The program supports the “No Lost Generation” strategy, which aims to provide those affected by the conflict with the chance to shape a more stable and secure future.
