1st Mobile FabLab Graduation

“Luminus Education” and “Orange Jordan” celebrated the graduation of the first batch of students of the Mobile FabLab virtually -through “Zoom”- abiding by the measures to limit the outbreak of Corona virus. Attending this graduation was the project manager of “Luminus ShamalStart” Ibrahim Fazaa, President of “Luminus Education” Ibrahim Al-Safadi, CEO of Orange Jordan, Terry Marini, and a group of media representatives.

Nine students graduated from the Mobile FabLab, the first of its kind in the Kingdom. The students who had joined the program in its first stations at the Jordanian-German Center of Excellence for Solar Energy in Al-Mafraq governorate, where they received free training in digital fabrication over a period of two months before the laboratory continued its journey to Jerash Governorate.

The Mobile FabLab was built to simulate “FabLab Irbid” digital manufacturing laboratory, which was established by Luminus ShamalStart in 2016 to provide the necessary resources for aspiring people in the northern governorates Jordan, with the aim of transforming their promising ideas into real businesses that serve their local communities and contribute to the development of industries. FabLab Irbid is the first digital fabrication laboratory in Jordan and one of the 20 largest labs of the global Fab Lab network. It also encourages innovators to unleash their creative potential and create “almost anything”.

Ibrahim Safadi, CEO of Luminus Education Group, said: “Today we are pleased to celebrate the fruits of our partnership with Orange Jordan in the Mobile FabLab, which is an important and proactive step to enhance technical education by reaching larger numbers of young people in several governorates, which is what the Luminus Group seeks to continuously develop.”
