Mobile Fablab – Jerash Graduation

The first cohort of students graduated today from the Mobile Fablab at its second destination since its inauguration. The Mobile Fablab is currently in the ancient city of Jerash, where students get the opportunity to get a hands-on experience of operating multiple CNC machines under the supervision of Luminus ShamalStart’s engineers.

The mobile FabLab aims to create a comprehensive infrastructure across the Kingdom, to teach and train the beneficiaries on the latest devices, tools, and programs in the digital fabrication field such as web development, computer aided design and cutting, scanning, 3D printing, designing and manufacturing electronic panels, and programing.

Mobile FabLab was inspired and built by FabLab Irbid. The fabrication facility at Irbid is the first digital fabrication laboratory in Jordan, and one of the 20 largest facilities of its kind among the International Fab Foundation network. Luminus ShamalStart inaugurated FabLab Irbid in 2016, to lend inspired prospective project owners in the north of Jordan the needed resources to transform pioneering ideas into actual prototypes that serve their local communities and advance industries at large.
