Mobile FabLab Graduation – Jarash

Luminus ShamalStart and Orange Jordan celebrated the graduation of the second cohort of Mobile FabLab students from its second station in Jerash Governorate via Zoom, as the mobile FabLab continues its journey after graduating its first cohort from Mafraq Governorate in early March. Nineteen students graduated from the Mobile FabLab in Jerash, after receiving the free training in digital fabrication over a period of two months, as they acquired the necessary skills to make souvenirs resembling the famous Roman monuments in the governorate, to support the manufacturing and tourism sectors in the Kingdom.

Luminus ShamalStart’s Project Manager, Engineer Ibrahim Faza, emphasized Luminus ShamalStart’s continuous endeavor to empower young creative men and women in Jordan, especially in the northern governorates, and promote the concept of digital manufacturing and entrepreneurship among them.
Engineer Ibrahim Faza added that the Mobile Digital Fabrication Lab – in partnership with Orange Jordan – is one of the first steps to spread the culture of digital manufacturing, stressing the importance of reaching out to Jordanian youth throughout the Kingdom.

The Deputy Chief PR, CSR, and Corporate Communication Officer at Orange Jordan, Eng. Rana Al-Dababneh, thanked the Ministry of Tourism for providing the space for the training in Jerash Governorate, stressing the company’s commitment to supporting young people by providing them with free digital education to prepare them for the labor market and entrepreneurship – a field where earning skills is becoming vital, as the mobile FabLab is expanding the number of the beneficiaries across the kingdom.

The Mobile FabLab, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, provides an integrated infrastructure for education and training to its beneficiaries on the latest machines, tools, and software in the field of digital manufacturing, such as web development, technology-enabled design, and cutting, 3D scanning and printing, design and manufacture of electronic panels and programming.
